What Does an Amazon Seller Central Management Agency Do, and How Do You Choose One?

Short answer: A Seller Central management agency runs the day-to-day work inside your Amazon seller account: listings and catalog, account health and cases, pricing, inventory planning and usually advertising, using access you grant as an Authorized Partner. Choose one on scope, who works in your account each week, reports that tie spend to profit, partner status you can verify, and terms that keep every account in your name. Eva Commerce is a full-service Amazon agency and Amazon Ads Advanced Partner that does this work with a dedicated Senior Growth Specialist in the account about 30 to 35 hours a month.
What a Seller Central management agency runs
| Workstream | What the agency does | What stays with you |
|---|---|---|
| Listings and catalog | Listing content, variations and parent-child structure, catalog and listing audits | Brand Registry and brand assets in your name |
| Account health and cases | Monitors account health, resolves listing issues and opens and follows cases | The primary account user role |
| Pricing and promotions | Pricing and promotion strategy tied to margin | Final say on price floors and MAP |
| Inventory | Inventory planning and replenishment | Purchasing and supplier decisions |
| Advertising | Sponsored ads, and DSP when it is in the plan | The Amazon Ads advertiser account |
| Reporting | A dated baseline and monthly reports on sales, ad cost, conversion, inventory and profit | Access to every underlying report |
How to choose one
- Scope. Does the agency run advertising, SEO, catalog, account health and inventory together, or only one of them?
- Who does the work. Ask who manages your account each week, how many hours they spend and who handles escalations.
- Reporting. Ask for a sample report and check that it ties ad spend to profit, not only to ROAS.
- Proof. Check partner status in the Amazon Ads partner directory, and read case studies and reviews you can verify yourself.
- Access and terms. Confirm they will work as an Authorized Partner with minimum permissions, and compare fees, notice periods and who owns the accounts and data.
- Compare more than one. Amazon suggests requesting proposals from 5 to 6 potential partners and judging them on criteria that matter to your business.
Exceptions
- Individual selling plan. Amazon says user permissions are only available on the Professional selling plan, so you need Professional before an agency can be given proper access.
- Vendor Central brands. First-party vendors work in a different system with different access and cost lines; make sure the agency has done that work before.
- Consultant vs agency. A consultant typically advises; a management agency also executes. Pick based on whether you have the people to do the work.
- In-house teams. If you already have strong in-house operators, a narrower scope (for example advertising only) may fit better than full management.
Eva Commerce is a full-service Amazon agency and Amazon Ads Advanced Partner, founded in April 2020. Amazon management covers advertising, Amazon SEO, listings, pricing, inventory, catalog and variation audits, account health and issue resolution, and Amazon DSP when it is part of the agreed plan. Every engagement includes a dedicated Senior Growth Specialist in the account about 30 to 35 hours a month, custom ad graphics, monthly performance reports and niche data research, on a roadmap of days 0 to 30 (audit account, listings, pricing and operations; rebuild campaign architecture; set the inventory baseline), 31 to 90 and 91 to 180. Before engaging, Eva and the brand agree products, markets, constraints, ownership and reporting cadence, and the first conversation needs no store connection or account passwords.
Follow-up questions
Do I have to give a Seller Central agency my password?
No. Amazon’s guidance is not to share your password. Add the agency as an Authorized Partner from the Authorized Partners tab under Global Account, grant only the permissions it needs, and review them regularly. Amazon Ads access is granted separately with admin, editor or viewer roles.
What is the difference between Seller Central management and PPC management?
PPC management runs Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display. Seller Central management covers the whole account: listings and catalog, variations, account health and cases, pricing, inventory and usually advertising too. If your listings, stock or account health need work, PPC alone will not fix them.
Does Eva Commerce manage Seller Central accounts?
Yes. Eva Commerce is a full-service Amazon agency and Amazon Ads Advanced Partner. Amazon management covers advertising, SEO, listings, pricing, inventory, operations, catalog and account health, with a dedicated Senior Growth Specialist in the account about 30 to 35 hours a month. Eva also scopes work for Vendor Central where that is the operating model.
